Class of 2028

Ty Banks, DO

Medical school: Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dublin Campus

Medical Interests: Outpatient Medicine, Sports Medicine, Rural Medicine, Point-of-Care Ultrasound, Lifestyle Medicine

Hobbies: Spending time with my wife, family and friends, watching Ohio State football/basketball, hiking, working out, playing basketball or golf and serving at my local church.

Future Plans: After residency, I plan to complete a sports medicine fellowship and provide both family and sports medicine care in central Ohio. With this training, I would love to further serve the community as the team physician at a local high school. Whether serving young athletes or elderly patients, my practice will be built on long-term relationships that allow patients to truly know and trust their physician.

Why Dublin: When I began looking at residency programs, I would always ask myself the question: “Do I want to be like the attending and resident physicians at this program both professionally and personally?” As I got to know each person at Dublin Methodist, I quickly realized the answer was, yes. Everyone I have met is kind, compassionate, driven and treats me like family. In addition to the people that make Dublin an amazing program, I wanted to focus my training to my areas of interest, such as sports medicine, Point of Care Ultrasound, OMM, and Lifestyle Medicine through the curriculum tracts and sporting event coverage opportunities provided at Dublin. Ultimately, I chose Dublin Methodist because I knew it would make me the best family and sports medicine physician I can be.

Brian Davidson, DO

Medical school: Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dublin Campus

Medical Interests: My professional interests include preventative medicine, osteopathic manipulative therapy, sports medicine, wilderness medicine, lifestyle medicine, gender-affirming care, geriatrics and healthy aging, medical education, and learner development and mentorship.

Hobbies: In my free time at home, one can often find me in my home gym trying new strength and conditioning principles for my outdoor adventures or in my kitchen mastering new recipes to share with my family and friends who are very important to me. I also love watching movies and TV shows but appreciate the value of a good ‘ole fashioned book too - especially science fiction, fantasy, or comic book varieties. Recently, I also have taken up learning to play the drums, which has been really challenging and rewarding experience so far!

Why Dublin: There was never a doubt in my mind that I wanted to complete the next stage of my training at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Ever since I first interacted with the faculty and residents during my first year of medical school, I have always been drawn to their community here where they have worked hard to foster a culture of compassionate care, humble expertise, empathetic hearts, and curious minds. The program places a large emphasis on multiple professional interest areas of mine, particularly osteopathic principles and practice, sports medicine, and medical education. Throughout medical school, I took every opportunity I could to surround myself with the people in this program because I wanted to train with people like them one day. Then, that day finally came when I joined their ranks. I could not be happier to be at Dublin and be part of the “Dublin Dream Team”. I am prepared and excited to service the patients that chose to receive their primary care with the Dublin Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Residency.

Future Plans: With my diverse set of interests, my plans seem to be constantly evolving. As it stands, I am planning to pursue fellowship training in sports medicine while staying committed to also providing primary care to patients, likely in some variation of a private practice model. Using that training, I would love to serve a local, small college as their team physician. Additionally, I will stay engaged in undergraduate and graduate education so that I am able to provide professional development coaching and mentorship to young learners as they navigate their medical education. I also wish to stay actively engaged in public health education, so that I can help empower those in my community to live healthful, vibrant lives

Jonathan Kluczynski, MD

Medical School: The Ohio State University College of Medicine

Undergraduate University: Georgetown University

Medical Interests: Outpatient medicine, preventative and lifestyle medicine, global health

Hobbies: Hanging out with family and friends, swimming, going on long walks, traveling

Future Plans: I anticipate practicing outpatient family medicine in Central Ohio. I'm interested in potentially starting my own Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice as well as being involved in global health and academic medicine.

Why Dublin?: Heavy emphasis on outpatient family medicine; very friendly, engaged, and invested faculty and residents; prioritizes work-life balance; pretty local area and facilities; and in my hometown of Columbus.

Maddie Olson, DO

Medical interests: outpatient medicine, lifestyle medicine, preventative medicine, women’s health and restorative reproductive medicine, pediatrics

Hobbies: I love spending time with my husband and our son William, whether that’s going on walks, doing CrossFit together, or enjoying good food and drinks around bridge park. We have a big extended family as well and love being with them as much as we can!

Future plans: I hope to practice full spectrum outpatient family medicine in Ohio, caring for whole families and being active in the community that I practice in.

Why Dublin: Dublin has everything I was looking for in a residency program. From the outpatient focus, to the emphasis on wellness, to the genuine care from the residents and faculty, I could see myself as a resident at Dublin from the time I first rotated here as a third year medical student. I’ve really enjoyed living in Dublin for the past four years of medical school at HCOM and am excited to continue to both be a part of and serve this community.

Imani Sellers, DO

Medical Interests: Community Medicine, Women's Health, Pediatrics, Social Medicine, Obesity Medicine, Palliative Care

Hobbies: While I wouldn’t say I have a ton of hobbies, I truly enjoy spending most of my free time with family and friends. When I do have downtime, you’ll usually find me catching up on my favorite drama series, watching trashy reality TV, or rewatching all things Disney (I’m a proud Disney fanatic!). I’ve been trying to pick up reading as a new hobby… so far, I’ve bought three books and read exactly zero, but it’s the thought that counts, right?

Future Plans:  I plan to serve in urban and underserve communities, working to improve community health either here in Columbus or take what I learn back home to Cleveland. I also want to continue to mentor students In STEM helping to diversify medicine. With the flexibility that Family Medicine offers, I hope to join a practice that allows me to care for patients across all my areas of interest.

Why Dublin: I chose DMFM because it truly feels like home. There’s a deep sense of community, both within the program and throughout the Dublin area. During my AI/Sub-I, I immediately felt welcomed, valued, and supported. Hearing patients speak so highly of the "Dream Team" only confirmed what I already sensed, this is a place where people genuinely care. The program’s strong emphasis on outpatient medicine and its learner-centered curriculum gives me the flexibility to explore my diverse interests and build a foundation tailored specifically to my future in medicine. And of course, one of the things I love most it’s incredibly DO-friendly!

Jonah Spoerndle, DO, AT, ATC

Medical Interests: Sports Medicine, Outpatient Medicine, OMT, Preventative Medicine, Point-of-care Ultrasound, and Lifestyle Medicine

Hobbies: I am a big Cleveland sports fan and enjoy watching all different types of sports. Spending time with my wife exploring cities and finding new restaurants. I love staying active by running, playing golf, and trying to improve my pickleball game. Getting to hang out with my family and seeing my niece and nephew as often as possible!

Future Plans: After residency, I hope to utilize my past experience as an athletic trainer and pursue a fellowship in sports medicine. After gaining more education in this area I plan to practice sports medicine and help patients improve their health through increasing their activity, developing sustainable good nutritional habits, incorporating OMT, and utilizing preventative medicine. I would love to provide coverage for a high school or professional team. I hope to practice in either Central or Northeast Ohio in the future in order to serve the communities I have called home.

Why Dublin: I chose Dublin Methodist because I truly felt that it was the best fit for me and set me up for success. The staff, residents, and faculty were so welcoming and encouraging during the time I spent here as a student, and it felt like a place I belonged. The curriculum matches my future goals by providing a strong outpatient focus and many opportunities to develop my sports medicine, OMT, and ultrasound skills. The patient population provides a diverse array of individuals with unique backgrounds and circumstances. I am lucky to be able to join the team at Dublin Methodist and continue to grow and learn in this program.
