Your Hobbies: I love spending time with the love of my life, my wonderful wife and best friend, Ange, and sharing life’s adventures together. Whether it’s running, hiking, fishing, insect collecting together, or participating in community sporting events, I enjoy being active outdoors and being a part of my community. I also enjoy reading, cooking, growing my own vegetables, and like to travel and experience new cultures, food, and making new memories.

Future Plans: I plan to complete a sports medicine fellowship after residency and continue to promote health and fitness through community outreach programs here in Columbus. I hope to build an outpatient practice that incorporates integrative medicine, sports medicine and precision medicine where my patients see me as a partner in their health and fitness.

The camaraderie and enthusiasm shown by the exceptional faculty and staff create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making you feel like you're part of a family and that what you contribute truly matters. DMH has created a fun, inviting, and informative curriculum where I am excited to learn and grow. I count myself honored to be part of a new program that is eager to evolve to meet the demands of the modern family physician and I know that DMH will train and nurture me to be the best physician I can be. I plan to have a diverse set of skills to be a knowledgeable and effective primary care provider to prevent and combat disease in my home state.

Why Dublin Methodist: Dublin Methodist Family Medicine perfectly captures the type of training I want to have. It is in a new, growing facility in the largest and fastest growing city in Ohio. The faculty have a very friendly and human centered attitude towards both residents and patients. The healthcare provided in the family medicine center is rooted in modern, evidence-based practices. Danielle Thornsberry, DO

Medical School: Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, Athens

Undergraduate University: Case Western Reserve University

Hometown: Bellevue, OH

Medical Interests: Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, sports medicine, integrative medicine, women’s health

About Me: I like to spend a lot of my free time at the gym. I train in power lifting and I would someday love to train for a strongwoman competition. I’m a diehard fan of Packers football and Tribe baseball. I love ice cream, movies, roller coasters, concerts, craft beer and cold brew coffee. I’m a small-town country girl and I love to be outside soaking up the sun, playing with animals and gardening my enormous collection of succulents. My boyfriend, Ty, and I dream of someday owning a fleet of big fluffy dogs, goats, and a horse. Unfortunately, we couldn’t bring my pet raccoon with us to Dublin.

Future Plans: Following residency I hope to complete a fellowship in primary care sports medicine. My ideal practice would be an outpatient clinic where I could practice general family medicine, sports medicine and osteopathic manipulative therapy while holding the position of team physician for a local school. I hope to live with my family on a big plot of land out in the country, where I can have a huge garden and a bunch of animals. I don’t ever plan on living outside of Ohio, but I would like to travel as much as possible.

Why Dublin Methodist: When I rotated at Dublin Methodist I immediately felt at home with the residents and faculty here. I felt valued as a D.O. and supported in exploring my areas of interest. I appreciated that I could not only practice OMT here but also grow and improve my skills via the osteopathic curriculum, something that I didn’t find at most residency programs. The sports medicine and point-of-care ultrasound curriculum is incredible and tailored to my interests, and I liked the unique outpatient focus of the program. I felt that this program had all of the tools to support and help me to achieve my career goals and become the best family physician I can be.

Favorite Place In Dublin: Fukuryu Ramen. Let me know if you want to go with me!
