Meals/Stipend
A resident stipend of $3,000 per year is provided for PGY1 and PGY2 residents to cover expenses such as meals while on duty, mileage, parking when rotating outside the hospital, and personal wellness. PGY3 residents are provided with a $4,250 stipend. These stipends are taxable.
Recreation, Wellness & Fitness
To encourage wellness, a variety of options are available:
A robust wellness curriculum that incorporates mindfulness, outreach, and sponsored activities
Access to self-assessment tools and resources
An extensive network of parks and trails for walking, running or biking within the City of Dublin
A $240 per year stipend to cover fitness club memberships of your choice
Access to OhioHealth Practitioner Health & Wellness Services
Resident Respite
Conveniently located in our Family Medicine Center, a dedicated residents-only work space is provided. Additionally, attached to the resident work space, dedicated resident-only sleeping quarters are available.
Paid Time Off
20 days of paid vacation, which includes paid sick leave are provided per contract year. An additional four days off are given at a holiday per year per the program’s discretion.
Parental Leave
Residents are paid for parental leave up to 9 weeks for birth mother (11 weeks if cesarean), 6 weeks for birth father and 6 weeks for adoption. Parental leave may affect program completion date.
Uniforms
Monogrammed white coats are provided yearly to residents at no cost.
Parking
Hospital parking privileges are provided in a well-lit, secure lot free of charge.
Educational
Residents may attend an educational conference with reimbursement up to $1,800 per year. Additional reimbursement may be provided for scholarly work or presentation of research.
Resident Retention
A generous stipend is available to PGY2 and PGY3 residents who indicate their desire to be employed by OhioHealth after program completion.
Health Insurance
Two options for medical, dental and vision insurance are available to residents and their families with the resident paying a portion of the total premiums. If enrolled, these benefits begin on your contract start date.
Disability Insurance
Disability insurance is provided for each resident at no cost and is effective on your contract start date.
Professional Liability
OhioHealth’s self-insurance program assumes liability for the acts of all residents incurred during the performance of duties within the scope of employment, and is effective starting the first day of your first rotation.
Life Insurance & Retirement Insurance
Group term life insurance is offered to help meet the need for financial protection. The cost varies depending on the amount of insurance chosen, and is effective on the first day of your start date. A 403(b) retirement savings plan with employer matching contributions is also available.
